Kris wandered along the empty hallways, carrying around a dark black notebook which she always carried around. Although she didn't admit it to anyone, she loved writing and always had. She hadn't had much time to write over at Raintree but now that she had time, she wad starting to write again. She sighed deeply and pulled out a black pen. She slid down the wall, her back now against it as she sat on the floor. She twidled the pen in her slender fingers, trying to think of what to write. She then got an idea and began to write about her whole life experience at Raintree and then transferring here. She smiled as she wrote although she looked up at the sound of light footsteps coming her way.

OOC: Is Kris a popular girl?
Carla was wandering down the hall, rereading a particlarly nasty story about concentration camps that someone wanted to pu in the paper.
When she saw someone in the hall, she bent her head lower, hoping they wouldn't notice her.

((Nope. Not really. She just moved here from Kentucky where she was a jockey))
Kris looked up to see a girl with her head bent low, trying to get past her unnoticed. She smirked before calling out to the girl. "Hey! Wanna join me?" She asked with a smile, not shutting her notebook and stuffing the pen into the spring that held the loose leaf papers together between the cardboard covers.

Taylor walked down the hallway in a bit of a daze. Today he had chosen to wear a plain white t-shirt with his usual pair of dark blue jean, a chain hanging out from his pant loop. He also wore black wrist bands on his wrists. Although he was quite the popular guy, he was a bit punk/emo. He saw one of his friends Kris sitting in the hallway with a black book, looking like she was writing something, but she wasn't alone. There was also another girl with her. He walked up to them, "hey Kris" he said, seriously as usual. It was quite the challenge for anyone to get him to smile.

Carla lanced at the boy.
Typical, she thought, He just HAS to show up when I'm here!
She gave the boy a little smile, and looked back at her paper. She tried to red, but the words looked fuzzy and blurred.

Kris looked up at the sound of a familiar voice. She already knew who it was before she even looked up to see him. It was of course Taylor Roberts, one of the first people she had met when she had first transferred here. "Hey Taylor. What'cha been up to lately?" She asked with a small smile, not bothering to ask why he was dressed that way, considering he dressed like that almost every day or every other day. Not exactly a new thing for him.

Carla stared harder at the paper, and began edging away from the two, anxious to get away from anyone in the popular crowd.

He shrugged a little bit as he removed his backpack and put it by his feet. "Not a whole lot" he told her, "just football and basketball practice.. it kind of gets tiring on top of school and stuff, you know?" he asked her. Yeah he was a sports fanatic, but he was also pretty smart and punk/emo. Most people just saw the sports part to him and didn't look past it, but there was more to him than that and it angered him when people couldn't get over themselves long enough to try and get to know him. "Hey" he said with a small knod to the other girl. He turned back to Kris, "Did I tell you that I was made both football and basketball captain?" he asked her, the smallest of smiles finally creeping across his face

Kris smiled as she heard the good news. "Taylor, that's great!" She said, now resisting the urge to hug him since she didn't want to signal anything. " So, um, what exactly do you do as a captain? Schedule practices and stuff?" She asked curiously.

Carla nodded back, murmuring 'Hello,' as well.

Now the small smile broke out into a full-out grin. He took a seat beside her and looked over at her. "Yeah, schedule practice, appoint replacements, hold try-outs, and just kind of do some coaching duties as well, telling the others where they might improve and stuff" he told her, glad that she had asked. It showed that she had really cared.

"That's great." Kris said now hugging him. "I'm glad you were made captain. It surely paid off for all those years you played football and basketball." She said, now pulling away and smiling.

He smiled as he hugged her back, he was so glad that one of his friends paid attention to his accomplishments, all his other friends were too busy pouting that they didn't get it instead of celebrating it with him. "Thanks," he said genuinely, "yeah, I guess it did really pay off" he said, finally pulling away. "So what's new with you?" he asked her

Heather entered the empty hallway which was mostly her hide out. She spotted more than one person already there. It looked like they were having fun. Heather felt a pain burning in her heart, she hadn't had as much fun as they looked like they were having in awhile. It was her that was always so serious. She sucked it up and walked over to them. "what's everybody celebrating?" She asked putting on a fake smile.

He looked away from Kris and brightened up a bit as he saw his best friend standing there. "Hey Heather" he said, a small smile appearing on his face at the sight of her. Somehow though, he got the feeling that she wasn't so happy. "Oh, I was just telling Kris here about my newly appointment as captain for football and basketball" he told Heather, the smile being replaced by a grin.
